Kathy Veath received her degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Illinois and has been a registered dietitian since 1996. She started treating those with eating disorders in 1998 while working at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. After moving to Texas in 2007, she opened her private practice Woodlands Nutrition LLC. She took a short break from the outpatient setting to help open and lead the RD team at Eating Recovery Center The Woodlands. In November of 2018 she returned to private practice full time to better service The Woodlands and Houston community.
Kathy has dedicated her career to the treatment of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, orthorexia and ARFID. She is an expert in the field and is one of only a few registered dietitians in the Houston area who are board certified as an eating disorder specialist dietitian (CEDRD-S) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). In addition to treating clients with eating disorders, Kathy also supervises other dietitians who are looking for guidance in this complex specialty or may be interested in obtaining their certification through IAEDP.
Kathy is devoted to each client and works hard to help each one make peace within themselves to find recovery. She believes that food is more than “fuel” and should be enjoyed in a way that enhances life and wellbeing to the fullest.
Kathy has been married for over 20 years and has 2 children and one spunky dog that keep her busy! In her free time, she likes to hike, run, and spend time outdoors with her family.
Kathy Veath provides clinical supervision and consultation for nutritional services. If you are interested in obtaining your CEDRD certification through IAEDP, she is happy to help you achieve this goal. All sessions count towards your hours needed for certification.
